Ten days after the murder of a black local policeman, a black man was holding a memorial service for George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which stirred up international indignation and extensive demonstrations against him In the name of violence against the police.

The death caused widespread anger in 50 states and abroad, triggering riots, robbery and large-scale peaceful protests. Demonstrators demanded accountability, reformed the police department or eliminated the police altogether.
Chauvin was initially charged with third-degree murder, and was later killed inadvertently. He saw these charges escalated to second-degree murder on Wednesday, and three other police officers suspected of being arrested were also sentenced to prison and imprisoned.
